PACKAGING TECHNICIAN

Red Lodge Ales Brewing Co is seeking a full-time employee to work in the cellar and on the packaging line. Safety and attention to detail are extremely important. The primary responsibility of this employee will be to operate and maintain our dual lane, inline canning line and associated equipment. This employee must be a hardworking, responsible, and self-motivated individual with a passion for craft beer and a desire to continue learning and growing within the industry.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Last Operating and maintaining an Alpha Brew-Ops canning line, including can depalletizer, PL-501 in-line labeler, and multi-format case-former/cartoner

  • Packaging duties including carbonating, kegging, and canning operations

  • CIP (clean-in-place) and sanitizing of kegs and packaging equipment

  • Cellaring duties including fermentation monitoring (checking gravities)

  • Logging of all packaging related notes and production metrics

  • Following SOPs (standard operating procedures) in each phase of brewing, fermentation, transferring and packaging

  • Maintaining a clean and organized cellar and cold storage

  • Cleaning and maintenance, and occasional repair of cellar, packaging, and draft beer dispensing equipment

  • Assistance with Quality Assurance activities

REQUIREMENTS

  • A strong passion for craft beer and a desire to advance personal growth in the brewing industry

  • Strong organizational habits, a self-motivated work ethic, and good critical thinking/problem solving skills

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Ability to work as part of a team

EXPERIENCE IN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING IS PREFERABLE

  • 1+ year(s) experience within the brewing industry

  • Experience running and maintaining canning equipment

  • Mechanical experience and aptitude

  • Forklift operation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl

  • Heavy physical work including climbing stairs, lifting kegs, pulling hoses, etc.

  • Willing to work in wet, hot and cold conditions

  • Willing to work in consistently loud environments

  • Ability to work safely with potentially hazardous chemicals

  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move objects up to 55 pounds and occasionally move and/or maneuver up to 165 pounds safely

COMPENSATION

  •  $20-24/hr DOE

  •  Simple-IRA retirement match up to 3%

  •  2 weeks PTO
